Hi, Collette. I'm so glad you asked this question. Given all the pandemic-related
updates in and around Walt Disney World right now, your hesitations are not unfounded. I'm happy to provide some input that will, hopefully, help ease your decision. There is no denying the fact that a Disney vacation will be a bit different right now than it may have been in the past, but for those of us who choose to look on the bright side, we can definitely find some positives to focus on.
A lot of kids have experienced a difficult year, full of unexpected changes, closures and cancelations. In those situations, the chance to get out and experience a little big of magic might go a long way in raising the spirits of a weary family. Those looking to travel domestically this year might be especially grateful for a Disney experience chock-full of the magic and storytelling you'd expect.
At Walt Disney World, all four of the theme parks are operational. Within each park, some of the most beloved attractions are entertaining guests every day. Kids as young as yours take so much joy in classics like
Dumbo the Flying Elephant,
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel and
it's a small world. Those attractions, and so many more, serve as backdrops to countless magical moments every day.
Outside of the theme parks, guests can
enjoy indulgent treats at Disney Springs, take in a game of
miniature golf or watch a
floating parade. Don't forget that pools are open, too. Registered resort hotel guests can splash around in some fabulous
themed swimming pools. As you can see, fun is definitely not cancelled at Walt Disney World this summer.
The last thing I would encourage you to consider, Collette, is the potential to make some iconic memories, should you choose to vacation this summer. Many years from now, when your teenage kids look back on the photos from this trip and see themselves sporting some seriously cute facial coverings, you'll have so many memories sparked by those images alone. This trip would definitely help set your tenth anniversary apart from the others, too.
Each family will have to make an individual decision about whether now is the right time to vacation at Walt Disney World, but if you do decide to go,
these timely tips might be especially helpful for travel during this unique period of time. I sure hope I've helped inform your decision, Collette. Don't hesitate to stop in again if we can offer more input.
