I am torn between the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. Our kids will be 3 and 6 at the time. It appears transportation is harder within Fort Wilderness and to the parks. However, it also seems there is more to do here in colder months.

    Hi Kate!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You are going to love watching the magic of Walt Disney World Resort come to life through the eyes of your children!! I have a three-year-old, and earlier this year a few of my mom-friends and I brought our collective five preschoolers for a week of Disney fun. While we didn't stay at either of the locations you are considering, you're so wise to think of your transportation needs before you book your Disney Resort Hotel. It's can be a lot of work getting your group and your gear going for the day.

Your crew would have more room to spread out in a Cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and you'd also have a full kitchen should you want to make a meal or pick up full-size groceries. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is also a great choice if you're like me in that you like the idea of a rustic environment yet love indoor creature comforts like room service.

The good news is that all guests are welcome to participate in any non-pool related activity at a fellow Disney Resort Hotel, meaning you could have the best of both worlds by staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and participating in the recreation offerings at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. There's even a complimentary Water Taxi that connects the two resorts. It runs all day and evening, but pro tip, it does get really chilly in the winter months.

I hope this helped, Kate, and We'll See You Real Soon!
