Took our 1st trip w/kids in March and are already planning to go back! Looking at AKL or Poly. Kids are 2,5 &8. Stayed at POFQ & loved it, but looking to stay a bit longet this time! Any suggestions?

    Hi Michelle!

It sounds like your family is becoming Disney fanatics!

Both the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Polynesian are beautiful resorts. If I were to choose between the two, given the ages of your children, I would choose the Polynesian. Since it is located on the monorail line and very close to the Magic Kingdom, I think it would be the more convenient choice for your family. It is a little more costly than Animal Kingdom Lodge, but if it is within your budget I think you will find that the easy transportation to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot makes it worthwhile.

The upside to AKL is that you have the opportunity to view the animals from the resort and/or your room. Of course from the Polynesian you can have a view of Cinderella Castle and watch Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach. Also, the only transportation option to the parks from the Animal Kingdom Lodge are buses.

No matter which resort you choose, you can always visit the other one during your stay. You can make reservations at one of the restaurants or just visit to walk around and tour the grounds. I'm thinking there may be many more Walt Disney World trips in your future, so you will most likely have the chance to stay at both before you know it!

I hope this helps! Enjoy planning your next WDW vacation!
