Welcome Back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jennifer! I’m pleased to take on another baby question for you! I still travel with a sound machine for my two kids, especially when we are visiting the
Disney Resorts and Hotels.
I’ve taken a few approaches, including using the “White Noise” app on my smartphone. The app can create, mix and provide music, including “color” sounds that mimic fans. Use the brown color sound for a box-fan like white noise that puts my over-tired kids to bed after a long park day. The other option you have is to pack your full-size sound machine (we do this often) or opt for a portable version like the “Hushh”(yes, 2 Hs) machine or the Sleep Sheep for a stroller-helpful option. I find that my kids would never sleep with headphones, or go through the parks with them; it was more cumbersome than helpful, and the Sleep Sheep was best for us.
You can also take a snooze in the aforementioned
Baby Care Centers or use the
Monorail Transportation for a quick trip back from Epcot or Magic Kingdom, if you are staying on the line. Our sound machines also helped (and still help) our kids fall back asleep in the middle of the night when they woke, or if we wanted to chat or watch a Disney program on a low volume while they were deep in slumber. I hope you have a restful vacation, and sleep sounder than Sleeping Beauty. We’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
