If we took a Disney Cruise, will we have a chance to go to Magic Kingdom also during the cruise? For instance, like a day at the park but sleep on the ship.

Hello, Regina! Welcome to planDisney. My fellow panelists and I are so happy to have you sailing our way with your question.

It sounds like you are considering a first-ever Disney Cruise! Bust out the confetti because that is definitely something to celebrate! It will be amazing to be welcomed onboard for a cruise that's filled with top-notch entertainment, delicious dining, and incredible Disney service. No matter the age of the guests in your travel party, there will be something for everyone to love! I've found that to be true when I set sail as one big happy family with my parents and my kids in tow.

Now, it sounds like you are a fan of Disney Theme Parks just like me, and I'm happy to share that several Disney Cruise Line sailings are offered that embark within a short distance of the Walt Disney World Resort. Port Canaveral is a little over one hour's driving distance from the Magic Kingdom and is currently the home port of the Disney Fantasy and the brand-new Disney Wish. To book one of these exciting itineraries, you can use the Find A Cruise tool and use filters to select your preferred departure port or ship.

There are no itineraries that have a stay at Port Canaveral where you would leave the port to journey to Walt Disney World and then get back to the ship within the course of your cruise. The way that you can enjoy both a Disney Cruise Line vacation AND Walt Disney World Resort is to sail from Port Canaveral and add a stay at Walt Disney World either before or after your cruise. This is called a Land and Sea Vacation Package and is a popular option for lots of Disney-loving travelers.

If you decide to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotel as part of your vacation, you can add a ground transfer to your cruise reservation. With this option, a Disney Cruise Line bus will pick you up from your resort hotel and drive you to Port Canaveral to embark on your cruise. The option to go from Port Canaveral to a Disney World resort hotel is also an option for those who prefer to visit the theme parks after disembarking from their cruise. Ground Transfers are also available directly to and from the Orlando International Airport if you'll be sailing from Port Canaveral.

To book a vacation package, you can contact the helpful agents at Disney Cruise Line by phone at (407) 939-7675. I recommend that you decide which Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel you would like to stay in, which cruise itinerary and the dates you would like to sail, and which portion of the vacation you would like to enjoy first to expedite the booking process.

I hope that information was helpful as you plan for lots of adventures ahead! Please sail our way again if we can help you more with either the Walt Disney World or the Disney Cruise Line portion of your vacation. There are lots of panelists ready to assist you!

    Have a wonderful day,
