There is tons of info about wheelchair accessibility except for one area: pools & swimming. Our son is wheelchair bound & he also has a special "beach wheelchair" - will he be able to use this at the beaches and in the zero entry pools?

Hi Tia! Swimming is such a great opportunity even for our wheelchair bound guests. It is especially easy for those that have the beach chairs that can provide access in the sand.

One of the nicest pool facilities on property is the Stormalong Bay pool at the Yacht and Beach Club resorts. They have a large section of sandy bottom pool where you could push your son into the warm water and let him have some play time. There is also a wide area of beach in front of the resorts where you can enjoy the sun or the movies at night or many other activities.

Most of the Disney resorts will have zero entry pools and will allow your special wheelchairs to be used in them. Be sure your chair is specifically made for water use so you are not worrying about the chlorine chemical influence on its structure. And don't forget lots of sunscreen and hats to cover heads during the warm sunny days! Enjoy!
