Can I get Tonga toast at Kona cafe at dinner time. I think I remember ordering it before but see no mention of it now. Thanks.

Hey there, Nicole, thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

Breakfast for dinner, count me in! I absolutely love Tonga Toast and will take any chance to have a slice of that thick, sugary treat. I actually haven't heard of anyone being able to order it for dinner though and I've been dining at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort a long time so this absolutely intrigues me. If it isn't a thing, it should be. Breakfast for dinner nights at the Poly would be amazing! I went ahead and took a quick peek at the current Kona Cafe dinner menu and I didn't see it listed as an option. Now that's not to say you can't try to order it. I have been pixie dusted many times on vacation to Walt Disney World for crazier requests than Tonga Toast so I would go it a go. With the right server at the right time and a little bit of faith, trust and pixie dust you just might find yourself enjoying your breakfast for dinner request. If not, I have another option that you could try. Tonga Toast is also served downstairs at Captain Cook's which is the food court for Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. If you can make it over there one morning, you are certainly guaranteed your breakfast request. If not, you could always try it for dinner. Because it is more of a casual atmosphere, they may be able to grant your request. Remember that the Tonga Toast served at Captain Cook's does not come with the strawberry compote so if you like this with it you'll need to ask for it on the side.

It may not be tonga toast, but Kona Cafe does offer some really great dinner options to enjoy. The glazed chicken wings and the potstickers are some of my favorites. I've actually made a meal out of those two appetizers lately. For the main dish, I like to order the Pork Belly Dashi Noodle Bowl. It's bone broth, rice noodles, a soy sauce egg, mushrooms, bok choy, hot sesame oil and of course pork belly. It's really good and hits the spot!

I have my fingers crossed you'll be able to enjoy breakfast for dinner at Kona Cafe, Nicole. If it works out for you, please come back and let me know - I'm so curious about this. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
