Tomorrow will be my 31st time to Disney however my 1st injured. 2 days ago I injured my sciatic nerve which makes it difficult to walk but more painful to climb stairs or travel uphill. I have a doctors appt today. Do you recommend getting a doctors note?

    Hi Victor!

Disney does a great job at trying to accommodate everyone no matter the physical limitation. You won't need a doctor's excuse to rent a wheelchair, scooter, or ECV (Electric Convenience Vehicle), nor do you need one for the wheelchair accessible locations and rides. If you feel you may have trouble walking through the park or resort, I would strongly recommend getting a wheelchair or mobile vehicle, or renting one when there (the parks have a Guest Relations Center usually at or near the entrance).

At the resort or dining area, you can alert them to your limitation and they will make whatever accommodations that they can.

If you plan to use a wheelchair, and in need of, say, a wheelchair accessible room, I would contact the reservation agents immediately (407-939-7675) so they can try to make accommodations for you.

If using a wheelchair or ECV, cast members will also guide you to wheelchair accessible viewing areas at shows or events.

Hope this helps. Have a terrific time at Disney!
