I was told that typically during Jan/Feb that the Skyliner is typically down. Is that true? That was one of the perks we were looking forward to at Caribbean Resort.

Hiya, Jazmine! Welcome back to planDisney - it's great to see you again! I'm so excited that your family is looking forward to your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and it will be my pleasure to track down the information you're looking for. Let's get right to it!

The Disney Skyliner just celebrated its fifth anniversary, gracing the skies above The Most Magical Place on Earth. It is a really fun way to travel and expanded the network of complimentary resort transportation to a new frontier beyond buses, boats, and, of course, the iconic Monorail.

To make sure everything is in tip-top shape for Guests, all of the attractions, resorts, and transportation vehicles at Walt Disney World are on a regular schedule of renovations and refurbishments. Because the resort is open year-round, these often occur during times when crowd levels are a bit lower - including the period after the December holidays. At the moment, exact dates for any planned work on the Skyliner have not been released. However, based on past years, it may be offline for a period in mid-to-late January after the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. I recommend checking back in the next few weeks for any updates to be released.

Jazmine, if the Skyliner is out of service during your trip, Walt Disney World bus transportation will be available for Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and the other resorts on the Skyliner route. If maintenance is announced that impacts your vacation, it's also easy to modify your reservation to a different resort if you like. You can either call or change your reservation online via your My Disney Experience account. There's no penalty for changing resorts, although there may be a cost associated depending on which option you select.

I'm sorry I don't have an exact answer for you, but hopefully, this information will be available soon! Thanks so much for making a return trip to planDisney, and please stop by anytime if we can help with other questions as you get your (Donald) ducks in a row for your magical first Walt Disney World vacation.

    See Ya Real Soon!
