I was told that you have some special help for kids with disabilities. My grandson is autistic. Can you tell me about them?

    Welcome to planDisney, Jeannie!

Thanks so much for choosing to be our Guest. It's my joy to come alongside you as you plan your next Disney adventure.

Disney has a very helpful service for their disabled Guests called Disability Access Service (DAS). Guests registered with DAS can make attraction return time selections using the Disneyland Mobile App. If you tap on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right of the app, the DAS feature will be displayed once your registration is complete. This feature will show a list of available attractions. If you tap on an attraction, you'll discover relevant information about that attraction, plus the next available DAS return time. If you tap that time, you'll then confirm the members of your party that will be joining your grandson for the attraction. Just note that you may only book one attraction at a time. It's a really fantastic service, Jeannie! And here's the best news: It's free!

You can pre-register for DAS between two and 30 days before you arrive at The Happiest Place on Earth. Simply visit the Planning with Disability Access Service (DAS) page of the Disneyland Resort website. If you log in to your Disneyland account and click on the "Request Live Chat" button, you can initiate the DAS Advance process. The live chat feature is available between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM (PT).

You will want to have your grandson present with you for the live chat. You'll also want your device to have a video camera. Depending on call volumes, you may enter a waiting room. So be prepared for that! You'll be able to speak to a Cast Member and explain your situation and they'll decide if your grandson qualifies for DAS.

If you don't get a chance to go through this process before you arrive, Hakuna Matata! You can even register for DAS when you arrive at the Disneyland Resort. Simply visit Guest Relations at any theme park and mention that you'd like to apply for DAS.

Here's what happens during the process, whether online or in person: a Cast Member chats with you and your grandson. They'll have a few questions to try and figure out if you qualify for DAS. If not, they'll suggest other ways you can maximize your time at Disneyland Resort.

I hope that's helpful, Jeannie. Please don't hesitate to stop by planDisney again if you have any other questions about your upcoming trip.

Thanks for letting us serve you.
