was told some restaurants provide huge portions. wondering if u r familiar with which sit-down restaurants at Epcot offer generous portions... we are a party of 2 adult, 2 preteen and 2 child, do not want to over-order. rather share and save credits.

Maybe it's just me (and it very well could be) but I don't feel as though the sit-down restaurants at Epcot offer huge portions.  Rather, I find that the portions are just right.  I can't speak to every sit-down in Epcot, because there are few we've yet to try, but in my experience I've never had trouble finishing a meal at any of the eateries we've visited.  Those are:  San Angel Inn (Mexico), Akershus (Norway), Tutto Italia (Italy), Teppan Edo (Japan), Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco), and Le Cellier (Canada).  That is not to say that the portions are puny, by any means, but both lunch and dinner at these restaurants have left me satisfied, without being overly stuffed.  Should you choose to share entrees, you may want to order an appetizer or two, to share.

In my opinion, portion sizes were a bit larger before the dining plan became a popular option.  It seems that with its take-off, meals at Walt Disney World have come down quite a bit in size.  To better gauge what might be appropriate for your family, you may want to do a quick Google image search of the restaurants you have in mind.  I plugged in a few sample restaurants just moments ago and found a number of food photos.  You, after all, know better than I what portions are "just right" for your family.  Hope that helps!
