I was told not to take my kids unless they were at least 48 inches tall without their shoes or they won't get the full experience, is this true?? I have a 5 yr old and 4 yr old

    Hi Amanda!

There are varying height requirements for some of the attractions.  However, we have been taking our children to the Parks every year since they were 7 months old!  There are so many things to see and do that they get to have a "full experience" at the Parks, no matter what age.

When our children were infants, the main benefit was that my husband and I were creating special memories that we will always cherish.  By the time our children were around the age 1 to 2, they were actually enjoying the sites, characters, parades, and even many of the rides!

By the 4 and 5, they were able to experience all but the most intense of attractions.  And really, some of the attractions that they weren't quite tall enough to experience are ones that we have a tough time convincing our teenaged nieces and nephews to enjoy - such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!

I have to say, as a mom of a 4.5 year old, I am SO excited about our next (this month!) because he is already excited and talking about it!  He remembers things from our trip there a year ago!

I do know lots of folks who choose to make Walt Disney World a "once in a lifetime" type vacation, and they like to wait until their children are old enough to do "everything."  However, if you do this, you are also missing out on the "magic" that the very young child gets to experience - the love of the Disney Characters and the sheer joy they have when they recognize their favorites, the ones they watch almost every day on the Disney Channel and in their favorite Disney movies.  There's just nothing like it, and, as a child whose first trip there was at the age of 2, I can testify to this personally!

Whatever you decide, whenever you decide to go, we are here to help you plan and add that special touch of Pixie Dust to your plans!
