I was told that I needed to preorder the gluten free monte Cristo sandwich two weeks before I arrive. Do you have the mailing address to where I should send my request?

Hi Michele! Welcome to planDisney. I can see that you have your eyes and heart set on the Battered & Fried Monte Cristo Sandwich from Cafe Orleans! The Monte Cristo is pretty much an icon in Disneyland foodie circles; right up there with churros, popcorn, and Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars!

One of the things I love most about the Disneyland Resort is that it caters to ALL Guests and rises to meet their needs so that everyone can have a magical day filled with special memories and experiences and treats. This holds true for Guests with food allergies and special dietary requests, so you can start daydreaming about that Monte Cristo. Food and snacks are a quintessential part of a Disneyland day, and Cast Members go above and beyond to ensure that the best allergy-free options are available and easily accessible. When making your Cafe Orleans dining reservation, be sure to tap the "Add a Food Allergy or Request" button before hitting the confirmation button. Here, you will be able to check off any specific allergies, including wheat and gluten. Even with this flagged within your reservation, I would be sure to mention it to your Cast Member server upon arrival as well. Within 14 days of arrival, if you have four or more allergies or specific questions, you are welcome to email the Special Diets team at special.diets@disneyland.com. They would be able to help you with any specific requests or questions!

Did you know that most table-service restaurants will have a Special Diets-trained Cast Member on site to help any Guests with their questions about the menu? I just love the extra mile that Disneyland will go to be there for its Guests. While the smaller, quick-service restaurants may not have someone onsite to assist, you can take a look at the menu ahead of time in the Disneyland Mobile App to see if there are any allergy-friendly options available. The easiest way to do this is to use the search icon along the bottom navigation bar and type in the restaurant name. You will see several blue icons right at the top. If you scroll to the right, you should see "View Menu". Many times the allergy-friendly options are listed at the bottom, so be sure to scroll all the way through!

If there's one thing I know about the Monte Cristo Sandwich is that you will need to come hungry and plan for a little breather after your meal.  This is a great time to just sit back and enjoy a few of the slower moments at Disneyland Park. I like to take a gentle spin around the Rivers of America on the Mark Twain Riverboat or head back to Main Street, U.S.A. and listen to The Dapper Dans! This is also a great time to explore The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln! One of my favorite hidden gems for a little rest and recovery from the sun or a big meal.

Michele, I hope this was helping in your planning! If you have any more questions, come back to see us real soon!

    Bon appétit!
