Hi Amelie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're so glad that you found us hEAR to ask this great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. Lilo's Playhouse at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort did occasionally open its doors during the daytime for family crafts and play in addition to serving as an evening Children's Activity Center. However, this facility did close about a year ago for both uses. I do, however, have a ton of other family fun tips.
Something very similar that is still around is
Simba's Activity Center at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. While these offerings rotate daily, check out all of the daily activities on this
Sports & Recreation list. As a guest of a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you're welcome to visit and use the basketball courts,
Playgrounds, tennis courts, even watch movies under the stars and so much more at any other Disney Resort Hotel. You can bring your own equipment from home or rent whatever you need from the designated equipment location at that hotel. And don't forget to bring your Resort Refill Cup that's included with your
Disney Dining Plan as you'll be able to refuel with a refreshment at these Resort Hotels too. The only exclusions to the list are that pools are only for the use of guests staying at that specific resort hotel, and so are the Community Halls at the Deluxe Villas. Most of the already mentioned activities are complimentary, but some on the list do have added fees, like the
arcades, dockside fishing, miniature golf,
surrey bike rentals, etc.
One of my absolute favorite activity locations is
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, where you can make a whole day of their offerings. You could rent a kayak then take in an archery lesson, followed by a quick horse ride, then relax as a family at my absolute favorite dinner show
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Or you could rustle up some grub at The Chuck Wagon fresh fixin's food truck before
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long.
And definitely check with the Concierge of your Disney Resort Hotel as they'll be able to tell you what all is happening, where and when during your visit. They can even help you register for activities like the popular
complimentary drawing classes at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, the
Beignet Dash Fun Run, the 'Wonders of the Lodge' complimentary tour at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and so much more.
I hope this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Amelie, and We'll See You Real Soon!
~Kristen
