Just told the kids about our trip! In past, we purchased photopass, but it has changed. This trip, day 1, we are not going in parks, but hanging out at resort + dining areas. Can we activate the photopass on that day, or do we need to be in a park?

    Hi Laura!

Your kids must be super excited! I love surprising my kids with trips to the Walt Disney World Resort. The best part are their reactions when they get the news! You are correct, PhotoPass+ changed to Memory Maker. If you have already purchased Memory Maker, you can begin using it as soon as you arrive. There is no activation necessary.  The way it works is that you have to link your Memory Maker to you account on My Disney Experience. Currently, the photographers are located in select locations, mainly the Parks and select dining locations. Once the photographer takes the photos, they will either scan your MagicBand or your card and your photos will appear in your account. You can download them immediately or wait until you get home. Personally, I prefer to check my photos right away to ensure that they are perfect or I will ask for a re-take. The great feature of Memory Maker is that you have 30 days to use it so I'm sure you will have plenty of time to capture those lifelong memories during your visit!

It has been a pleasure assisting you Laura. Please feel free to send me another other questions you may have.
