I was told by a friend that a few years back her daughter got in free to Disneyland on her birthday. Is this still true? We are taking my granddaughter next week for a couple of days for her 4th birthday.

Hello, Kim! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question!

Several years ago the Disneyland Resort did offer a very special promotion providing free admission on your birthday. However, this promotion has long since been discontinued. There is a separate price for theme park tickets for children ages 3 through 9, however. I recommend purchasing your tickets online or on the Disneyland app in advance. This allows you to skip the ticket booth and head straight into the parks to get the magic started!

When you arrive, stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your granddaughter. This will garner her all sorts of birthday wishes from Cast Members throughout the parks. Additionally, you might also consider booking a magical princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. We did this for my daughter who was celebrating her 5th birthday during our last trip and she got a special birthday princess sash as part of the makeover. You also get an adorable pink cinch bag to bring home the comb and makeup palette they use. It is such a fun and enchanting experience for any little girl and it's extra special when celebrating a birthday!

I hope you have a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
