Welcome to planDisney, Shannon!
You must be so excited for your upcoming visit to
Walt Disney World, and a parent/son visit is sure to be extra magical!
As you prepare what you'll need for your trip, take a look at this very helpful post
Know Before You Go: Returning to a World of Magic. There, you'll see that to enter one of the Walt Disney World theme parks, you'll each need a valid ticket, a park reservation in the
Disney Park Pass System, and a face covering. All Guests have their temperature screened prior to entry, but there is no requirement for ID.
There are very many Guests who simply don't have ID--those in your son's age bracket and younger, especially--so that is not a requirement for park entry. There are some specific situations that require ID, such as picking up
Florida Resident tickets or activating a discounted Annual Pass through Disney Vacation Club Membership, but even those instances are for ticket activation, not for park entry. If you are picking up your tickets and were told to bring ID, yours will be all that's needed, as students often do not carry any.
You and your son will be able to tour without ID, so be sure to plan your days for the most fun ever! As you plan those days, be sure to read the most recent updates on both Walt Disney World's website and on
Disney Parks Blog. Then, head back over to us at planDisney and ask as many questions as you'd like. We love to help!
