Hello, Kara!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for visiting me with your great question. I am thrilled to hear a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth is in your near future!
While there are many Good Neighbor Hotels in the area that are a short walk from the resort, all three
Disneyland Resort Hotels are a comparable distance away from the theme parks and just adjacent to the Downtown Disney District. The difference is only a matter of a few minutes on foot, and one of the many things I love about the Disneyland Resort is how convenient it is to get around. There is no need for any kind of transportation from the Disneyland Resort Hotels to the two theme parks or the Downtown Disney District—they’re no more than a short walk away! If you’re staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, you can also take advantage of
Extra Magic Hour and enter one theme park early each day.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the closest resort hotel to the theme parks. It even features an exclusive entrance to Disney California Adventure Park since the two are right next to each other! This special entrance is just for hotel Guests and makes visits back to your room quick and easy. Because the transition from Disneyland Park to Disney California Adventure Park is so convenient (they are literally right across from each other), I recommend upgrading to a park hopper ticket if possible to make the most of your days. Being able to go back and forth depending on crowd levels and to catch certain shows or parades is a huge perk!
I hope this helps, Kara, and that you enjoy a perfectly pixie-dusted Disneyland Resort vacation! Please visit me again with more questions as your trip approaches.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
