We just told our children (10 and 5) that we are going to Disney in a couple of months, My 10 year old was ecstatic but my 5 year old was upset and said he didn't want to go. I'm not sure why he is so scared. Do you know of any ways I can help him prepare?

Hi there Jennifer,

My son was afraid of the characters when he was younger as well. It really depends on what he is scared about, but we watched a lot of Disney movies and made sure he was familiar with all of the characters before we went to Walt Disney World. We also took him to Chuck E. Cheese to get him used to being around similar types of costumes, etc. Honestly, if he has never been to Walt Disney World before, I think he will be more in awe of everything than scared! Take it slowly and introduce him to different aspects of the parks step-by-step. I'm sure you all will have a wonderful time!
