Hi there, Chiara!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to hEAR you have an Alaskan adventure planned! My family sailed through Alaska with Captain Mickey a few years ago and plan on going again one day! There is just so much to see and do in Alaska!
I checked with Disney Cruise Line and confirmed that unless you have booked a private car excursion through
Port Adventures, car seats are not required for the excursions. We have always just had our boys on our laps or used the seatbelt provided in the motor coach or bus used to transport us to the excursion. But, if you have booked an excursion through an outside vendor and have been asked to bring along a car seat, you will want to follow their direction. There is no storage available onboard for stroller and/or car seat storage, so they would both need to be in your stateroom. We have always traveled with two umbrella strollers and been able to easily collapse them and store them underneath the bed in the stateroom. I always recommend bringing an umbrella stroller instead of a bulkier one due to space constraints. Plus, a smaller stroller is easier to navigate down the hallways and if you happen to have a sleeping toddler, the umbrella stroller will easily fit through the doorway of your stateroom! We all know that waking a sleeping child is NOT usually the best idea, so anything to keep them asleep is helpful!
Disney Cruise Line makes traveling with little ones so convenient by providing bed rails, pack and plays, an
onboard nursery and activities just for toddlers! You will all have the best time and make some WONDERful memories during your vacation!
Happy Sailing!
