Hi there, Sarah!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for asking this question about the Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you have a wonderful visit to the Happiest Place on Earth planned with your mother and daughter! You’re going to love exploring the magic of the theme parks together, and celebrating your little one’s third birthday will make the vacation extra special!
If you have booked a
vacation package that includes theme park tickets and hotel accommodations at a Disneyland Resort Hotel or a Good Neighbor Hotel, then your daughter will be considered her age at check-in for the duration of your visit and will not need a park ticket. However, if you purchased or plan to purchase your theme park tickets separately, then she will technically require a ticket on the day she turns 3 years old and on all subsequent days. This rule is based on the requirement that children’s ages be provided when you book a vacation package, but not when theme park tickets are purchased individually.
Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your little girl at City Hall in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park to help celebrate her special day. It can be customized with a name so she’ll receive personalized birthday wishes from Cast Members and other Guests! If you have any table-service meals planned, be sure to let your server know you’re
celebrating her birthday because you may receive some extra magic during your dining experience!
I hope this answers your question, Sarah, and that your family has a vacation that is pixie-dusted to perfection! Please stop by again with more planning questions as your trip draws near.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
