Hello, Bandana!
Welcome to planDisney. I am happy that you sent your question to us! Our family has food allergies, and I can understand how tricky it is to ensure that safe, preferred food is available for your kids while traveling.
Guests with
severe food allergies can submit the
Special Diets form to notify the Crew Members about any food restrictions ahead of time. It may also be possible to request substitutions, which are not guaranteed but it never hurts to ask. After submitting the form, I recommend calling the
Disney Cruise Line to see if they can provide the type of milk your toddler can consume. They have been able to provide select items for my family members with food allergies during our previous cruises. However, some of my requests were unavailable, which is why it is important to speak directly with them.
If Disney Cruise Line cannot provide the preferred milk, then you might be able to bring it on board as long as it is not included on the
Prohibited and Restricted Items list. It can also take a few hours to access your stateroom, and the milk will not be able to be refrigerated until then. Each stateroom should have a mini-refrigerator or cooler drawer. If it is challenging to keep the milk cold, you might want to request one of the later Port Arrival times to limit the amount of time the milk is not in a refrigerator.
In addition to requesting specific food for my family members with food allergies, I usually bring nonperishable items in original factory-sealed packaging to ensure they have safe, preferred snacks. Just keep in mind that all items must either be consumed prior to returning to your home port or remain unopened. With food aplenty on a Disney Cruise, there is also sure to be something that everyone likes! On our recent sailing aboard the Disney Wish, I loved stopping by
Inside Out: Joyful Treats to order hand-scooped gelato served in freshly made waffle cones. It was so good!
Bandana, I hope this information was helpful. Please reach out to planDisney again if you have other questions!
Happy sailing!
