Hi Erin!
I have a child with food allergies so I completely understand that it can be stressful trying to plan a family vacation. One of the most wonderful things about the Walt Disney World Resort in my opinion is that they really go to great lengths to keep guests with food allergies safe. They have found so many ways to accommodate guests with
Special Dietary Requests, and I feel extremely confident whenever I take my daughter to eat that she will be kept safe.
Many Resort restaurants offer allergy-friendly menus. There also are a couple of ways that you can address the food allergy. The first way is to have the allergy noted on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and also on any table service reservation that you make. You can either do this over the phone or online when making a dining reservation. You are also encouraged to discuss your dietary needs with their server upon arrival to your dining location and you also could consult with a chef or Cast Member trained in special diets before placing your order.
I would also suggest checking out menus ahead of time so that you are a bit more prepared before you arrive. I love to use Allears.net as they have some really great up to date menus. Places that some of my fellow Moms Panelists have recommended for great vegetarian entrees in Epcot are: Restaurant Marrakesh (they have great veggie couscous), Hacienda de San Angel (black beans, rice, chips and salsa, and a lot of veggie offerings, Via Napoli (pizza) and check out the France pavilion for some amazing Mac & Cheese!
If you are ever in doubt or need a recommendation once you are at the Walt Disney World Resort, ask the nearest Cast Member. They are typically a wealth of information and are always willing to help out!
I hope that you have a magical time! Come back and see us real soon.
