Hey there, Ashley! Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney with your question.
Returning to a world of magic has been absolutely incredible. It's been so nice being able to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks once again. However, with the reopening did come a new set of
rules and regulations to keep Cast Members and Guests safe during these unprecedented times. Currently, all Guests ages 2 and older must wear a face covering at all times unless actively eating, drinking or taking a quick photo at outside locations. There are no exemptions to this policy at this time. However, as things change Disney is constantly reevaluating the regulations they have in place and are making necessary changes all of the time. If the face covering requirement changes, you'll be able to find the announcement and all of the information regarding it over on the
Disney Parks Blog.
If you decide to take your toddler to
Walt Disney World and he or she is over the age of 2 and needs a face covering, I highly encourage you to take lots of breaks throughout the day. Relaxation stations are zones set up throughout each of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks where Guests can remove their face covering without the need to eat or drink and just... relax! Some of the locations are located indoors and have air conditioning that offers a nice reprieve from the Florida heat and some are located outside. The tables and chairs to relax at are spaced out adequately where everyone can remain safely distanced from one another. Your toddler will also be able to take their mask off when physically distant from others and actively eating or drinking so plan to take a lot of snack breaks if you do decide to go.
Ashley, if you are concerned about the policy maybe now isn't the right time for your family to visit Walt Disney World. However, things are constantly changing so do keep checking back for updates. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and
ask me.
