Thank you for this very important question, Jennifer!
It looks like not only do we share a first name, but we also both have children with tree nut allergies! One of the reasons my family loves vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort is that we don’t have to worry about being able to enjoy a nice meal as a family! Many Quick Service and Table Service locations within the Theme Parks, Disney Springs, and Disney Resort hotels offer
allergy-friendly menus. These menus are readily available at many locations, in fact, I just looked up
50’s Prime Time Café’s lunch menu online, and if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, it says “Allergy-friendly menus available upon request”. It is also a good idea to contact Disney Dining and add the
special dietary request to all of your reservations. Alternatively, if you don’t have reservations yet, you can add them when booking online or over the phone. I also like to remind my server that we have an allergy at our table and we have even had chefs come discuss options with us or walk us around the buffet! Quick Service locations also have these allergy-friendly menus, if you don’t see one, make sure to ask a Cast Member!
Also, if your vacation includes a stay at one of the magical Disney Resort hotels, there are sometimes “VIP room cleanings” available to ensure that all allergens and asthma triggers are removed before your arrival. This is subject to change and availability, but it is worth contacting Disney Reservations if you think this would be beneficial to you!
Bon appetit!
Jen
