Hi Laurie!
Welcome to planDisney!
The day that dining reservations become available is always a good day because it means your trip is almost here (especially now that you can make reservations at 60 days in advance, instead of 180 days). So many changes are taking place, with adjustments to ensure everyone's safety at Walt Disney World Resort. This includes limiting the amount of seating available in all the restaurants that have re-opened. This, in turn, means that securing reservations at some of our favourite locations may become more challenging. All I can recommend is that you keep checking back for availability. At this time particularly, Guests are adjusting travel plans and will be changing dining reservations, so it is very possible that cancellations at
Kona Cafe and
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant will occur. I recommend checking several times a day if you can. You can also do a wider search online on the
reservations page to see which other restaurants have availability, as a back-up plan (but please remember to
cancel any unwanted bookings to avoid incurring cancellation charges.)
Please note that you will need a
Disney Park Pass for any dining reservation that is located within a theme park.
During the phased re-opening of Walt Disney World, we may need a little more considered and careful planning, but our vacations to Walt Disney World Resort can still be a magical experience. Please read this information about
Returning to a World of Magic, and
Dining: Know Before You Go, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official updates as they are announced.
We know you have many questions about what this all means for your upcoming visit. Please know we are working to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, and we look forward to providing an update as soon as we have more information to share. Come back and ask as many questions as you like! We are always happy to help you plan your vacation.
