Just today, a friend and I booked Art of Animation WDW, 1st wknd of August. Two dads with two 5 yr old boys. We know we're late for securing fast passes and dining. Any suggestions for us? The boys are excited to play Sorcerer at MK

    Hi Curtis,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine your boys' excitement when they find out they are going to Walt Disney World!

If you have not done so already, create a My Disney Experience Account. Link your resort hotel reservation and theme park tickets using the My Reservations and Tickets link. Then, make your Fast Pass+ selections. Given their ages, you should still be able to make some Fast Pass+ selections for attractions they may enjoy.

Be sure to make advanced dining reservations for character meals. Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, Hollywood & Vine and 'Ohana are a few of our favorites. The characters will stop by your table, sign autographs and pose for pictures. We love character meals because we do not have to stand in line for the characters!

But wait - I sense that the Force might be strong in your boys. They could join forces to save the galaxy from the Dark Side at Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. To sign-up, you must arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios before park opening so that that you can be one of the first guests to enter the park when it opens. Go directly to the sign-up location at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost. We always make a pre-park opening breakfast reservation at Hollywood & Vine at about 8:15 to enter the park before other guests. In our experience, we have been able to sign-up for Jedi Training before breakfast.

Curtis, be sure to check the park hours. If there are early morning Extra Magic Hours, skip the breakfast reservation, get to the park as Extra Magic Hours begin and get in line (with the boys) to sign-up as soon as you can!

May the Force be with you!
