Bright Suns, Gloria! It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I was lucky enough to experience my own trip to Batuu during the opening week of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge this August so I've got lots of great tips for your upcoming visit next month.
First of all, if you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you'll want to know that, during your stay this October, Disney's Hollywood Studios will be opening as early as 6 a.m. for
"Extra" Extra Magic Hours. That means that you'll have access to Black Spire Outpost up to three hours before guests who are staying off-site. Once you're there, I recommend heading straight for
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which is the exciting new attraction that opened with the land last month. You'll get the chance to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy and help Hondo Ohnaka get a shipment of cargo safely to its destination. It's best not to discuss it out loud in case the First Order is monitoring our communications, so I'll move on to talk about one of my favorite things: the food! On Batuu, you can grab a Quick-Service meal at
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or a pick up a Ronto Wrap at
Ronto Roasters, both of which participate in the Disney Dining Plan as well as Mobile Ordering. There's also the
Milk Stand, which serves both Blue and Green Milk, but if you're looking for something with a bit more of a kick you can use
My Disney Experience to get a reservation at
Oga's Cantina where you can enjoy alcoholic beverages from Batuu and beyond!
Black Spire Outpost is known for its shopping, so make sure to visit the thriving Marketplace which is right in the center of the land. If you're a big Star Wars fan, you'll love getting the chance to build your very own astromech unit at
Droid Depot. You can choose from both the BB and R2 body styles and you can customize everything from the colors down to your droid's personality. They interact with the land, so they're a really fun souvenir to get on your trip and keep with you while you're exploring. If you've always had the hunch that you're Force-sensitive, go test out your powers at
Savi's Workshop where you can forge your very own lightsaber out of "scrap metal". This was my favorite experience of my trip to Batuu and a must-do experience for anyone who has ever dreamed of becoming a Jedi themselves. Both Savi's Workshop and Droid Depot are extremely popular, and making reservations through My Disney Experience is highly recommended.
I hope this answers your question, Gloria, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
