Howdy Abby,
I am so excited to hear your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner. You must be floating on pixie dust as you get ready to embark on your magical adventure! Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
Although reusable ice packs are preferred, you are allowed to package loose ice in clear zipper-top bags and place those inside your cooler prior to visiting the parks. This way, you can refill the bags, in the morning, at your
Disney Resort Hotel and empty them at night, once you return. If it's an exceptionally warm Disney day, you can visit most quick-service locations to request a cup of ice and refill those bags as needed to keep your son's food and snacks cold throughout the day.
Since we're talking about zipper-top bags, they are such a useful thing to pack for more reasons than just ice. I always make sure to have a few in our pack bag on every visit. They're good for storing wet socks after those Florida rainstorms (make sure to bring an extra pair of dry ones to switch out,) they are useful in protecting electronics or other items if you plan on going on a water ride such as
Kali River Rapids and they are perfect for packaging up any Disney snacks or treats you may not be able to finish.
Speaking of Disney treats, you may need to pack a few extra of those make-shift "to-go" bags I suggested as you'll be visiting during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. There are so many delicious springtime dishes offered and sometimes my eyes are definitely bigger than my appetite. There are additional activities for kids and gorgeous
topiary displays to check out as well.
Have a wonderful visit, Abby! Please come back and visit me again soon if there are any other questions or recommendations I can help you with.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
