    Do you have any tips that parents can use to prepare their kids for WDW? I want to teach my kids what to do if they get lost or separated for us. Also - should kids wear some kind of identification?

    Hi Jennifer,

    I think this is a fear that most parents face when traveling with small children.  When my daughter was younger, I told her that if she ever got lost in WDW or separated from me that she should go to any cast member as this was a safe person she could trust.  I showed her what cast members wore (i.e. their name tags) and they would help her find her way back to me.  I luckily have never had to test this out, but as much talking as you can do with your children about strangers and the right and wrong things to do when you get lost would be my suggestion.  You don't mention the ages of your children, but if they are very young I would suggest writing somewhere on their arm or stomach your name and a phone number you can be reached at (and/or your resort information) with a permanent marker.  I know of parents who have done this and told their children to show this to a cast member if they get lost.  The permanent marker will wash off after about a week and you don't have to worry that your children have to remember any numbers or the resort you may be staying at.  I have also heard of parents having a dog tag engraved with your information on it for contact purposes and this would be attached to a necklace around their necks, but I like the permanent marker idea better myself!  I think talking to your children goes a long way and add the identification along with that and I think you will have it covered.  I don't let my daughter out of my site if at all possible, but I do feel comfortable with the fact that she would be returned safely to me if she was lost within Walt Disney World.  I hope I have helped you a bit.  Have a magical day!
