Are there any tips on getting a memorable wedding proposal, such as character requests or photo opportunities?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Matthew! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question!

Before we begin, I'd like to take a moment to congratulate you on this incredible milestone! You're about to embark on your biggest adventure, and I'm so glad you chose the Walt Disney World Resort as your backdrop for creating a memory that will last a lifetime. I'm incredibly excited for you!

I'm happy to say that Walt Disney World offers a ton of ways to make a proposal as magical as possible, and there's something for every budget and style! I'll start with some of the pricier options and make my way down to the most affordable (and even free!) ones. First, you have the option to make a dining reservation at Victoria & Albert's, Walt Disney World's very own Michelin Star restaurant. The overall ambiance here is very romantic, intimate, and cozy, and the food is exceptional. Before your reservation, you will get an email asking about dietary restrictions, any requests, and if you're celebrating anything special. You'll even get a personalized menu with your names and the date to commemorate such an important day!

If the budget is tighter but you'd still like to have a magical proposal in a restaurant, I suggest making a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table. This iconic restaurant is located inside Cinderella Castle, making it the perfect location to mark the beginning of your Happily Ever After. Plus, since you mentioned you'd like to have characters witnessing your special moment, you'll be happy to know that four or five princesses will be there cheering you on!

Matthew, if restaurant proposals aren't really your thing, how about a VIP viewing of the animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park? You could book the Wild Africa Trek, which is a 3-hour privately guided expedition that takes Guests on a safari-like adventure through the park's Africa section... and it includes all the Disney PhotoPass photos taken during the trek! Can you imagine getting down on one knee with the majestic savanna in the back? I certainly can!

If you aren't really into all that and your budget is tighter, you could always propose in front of Cinderella Castle (or anywhere else around the four Theme Parks, really). I suggest booking a Capture Your Moment session for this! These sessions include 20 minutes of private time with a PhotoPass photographer and the props you choose. Keep in mind that this service does not include the Memory Maker Service, so you'll need to purchase that separately in order to download your pictures!

Finally, if you don't want to spend any money at all, you can always propose at your favorite spot in the parks or as you're meeting your favorite characters. You don't have to go all out in order to make it special! I do suggest purchasing the Memory Maker Service so you can download all of your pictures. And if you do, don't forget to take advantage of the amazing PhotoPass photographers! Pro tip: don't forget to slip them a tiny note beforehand so they know what to expect.

I truly hope this helps, Matthew! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a magical weekend!

    Warm hugs,
