Hi, Alona!
This is a great question, especially during this week of wet weather in Anaheim. I recently experienced the
Disneyland Resort with my kids during a rainy day, and I have to say, it has become one of our favorite days at the Parks! We were lucky to experience a light drizzle on-and-off, otherwise, we probably wouldn’t have lasted as long as we did… but the smaller crowds and shorter wait times made all of us giddy for more! So, I would say a visit to the Parks during the rain is worth it, as long as you plan ahead.
First, purchase ponchos for the whole family – these are available inside the Parks. It’s also a good idea to make sure your family is dressed in rain attire, including rain boots. You may also want to pack a change of clothes (including socks!) and store them in a locker.
Next, download the
Disneyland app to locate your family’s favorite Characters – on rainy days, they’ll often move to covered or inside locations. For example, Mickey Mouse and friends can typically be found inside the lobby of The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at Disneyland Park, or inside Kingswell Camera Shop or Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park.
Rain can affect some
Entertainment options, such as parades, fireworks and shows performed outdoors. But, there are still plenty of indoor alternatives. Inside Disney California Adventure Park, my family loves heading to the Animation Academy to escape from the rain. Inside Disneyland Park, we head to The Disney Gallery or Star Wars Launch Bay.
I hope these tips help you and your family enjoy your rainy day at the Disneyland Resort!
