Hi, Pamela!
Thank you for sailing over to
planDisney as you prepare for your magical
Disney Cruise! It looks like you are just a week or so from sail away, so I hope you are starting to
pack. Cruise casual outfits will be great, with a touch of nicer outfits if you plan to dine at Palo or if you want to dress up one night for a formal family photo. Otherwise, sundresses and capris work well for the ladies, and nice shorts and polo shirts for the men. Pack accordingly for any
Port Adventures that you have planned.
You have a few ways to pay for your
onboard gratuities. Some guests pre-pay their gratuities ahead of time when booking their cruise, or during final payment. One less thing to plan ahead for! If not pre-paid, daily gratuities will be added to your stateroom folio. If you prefer to pay gratuities directly in cash, stop by
Guest Services to have the gratuities removed from your account. Envelopes will be dropped off in your stateroom so you may tip accordingly. The crew onboard works so hard to make your vacation magical, and your gratuities are the perfect way to say "thank you" to them! I like to keep an envelope with small bills to tip
room service, or if I want to give an extra tip when ordering beverages at the bar.
Another place where tipping is appreciated is when dropping off luggage to the porters upon arrival to the port. My bag is always so heavy, and I really appreciate their help getting my luggage onboard! Tipping the porters is not required but they certainly work hard to transport all the luggage. Just a reminder:
Luggage tags will be mailed to you about a week before your cruise. Bring them with you or ask the porters for tags if you forgot yours or need additional tags for your travel party.
I hope you find the service on a Disney Cruise to be practically perfect in every way! From your first grand welcome as you board until your final farewell breakfast, you will be treated like royalty. Say "HI" to Captains Mickey and Minnie for me...Bon Voyage!
Cathy
