Welcome aboard, Kirsty!
In less than a month, you’ll be sailing the seven seas with Captain Minnie on a
Disney Magic at Sea itinerary! I hope it’s the perfect staycation for you and your family. No doubt that will be due in part to the exceptional service that is the hallmark of Disney Cruise Line.
I like how you are already thinking about thanking your fabulous servers by tipping them. Gratuities can be prepaid by having them automatically added to your stateroom folio. You can request these be added at least 3 days in advance of your voyage or make arrangements while onboard at
Guest Services.
In my experience, I prefer to prepay gratuities. That way, I know that it is done, and then I can always add an additional amount (usually in the form of cash) for above and beyond service.
There’s even a list of recommended gratuities for your rotational dining team and stateroom host/ hostess. The night before you disembark, you will be given slips reflecting the gratuity amount to place in envelopes for each of these four Cast Members.
I haven’t heard of any rules that would keep you from using cash to tip for room service or for the gratuities if you would prefer them not be added to your stateroom folio. For beverages purchased at onboard bars and lounges, deck service tabs, and any Senses Spa and Salon treatments, gratuities are automatically included in those charges.
Now that we’ve covered tipping, I hope you will make a beeline back to planDisney if you need more planning tips! Wishing you a very magical voyage on the Disney Magic!
Happy Sailing!
