What is the tipping policy at resort hotels?

Welcome to planDisney, Adele! Thanks so much for swinging by with your question today.

It's so kind of you to think about tipping the friendly Disney Cast Members that are helping to make your vacation magical. For that reason, it's always a good idea to make sure that you have some small bills in your wallet before you leave on your trip. Tipping is customary for some services at your Resort Hotel, like housekeeping and bell services, but there's no agreed-upon amount and it's up to your discretion what you'd like to give.

When someone at bell services handles my luggage, like storing it for me or returning it to me from a stored location, I'll tip $1 to $2 per bag depending on how heavy they are. I will also tip bell services a few dollars if they bring something to my room, like a grocery order.

For housekeeping services, I like to leave $3 to $5 cash each day in my room clearly marked for them so they know it's theirs to take. I prefer to tip each day instead of at the end of my trip because different housekeeping Cast Members might be servicing my room every day.

If you're staying at a Deluxe Resort Hotel and you have taken advantage of valet parking, it is also customary to tip your valet $3 to $5 when they bring you your car.

I hope this answers your question, Adele, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
