Welcome back to planDisney, David!Heigh-ho! It's off to Disneyland we go! Not only are you in for an exciting adventure at Walt Disney's original magic kingdom, you'll be indulging in an even more magical experience with the help of a VIP tour guide.Your VIP tour guide will take you on a sort of magic carpet ride through "A Whole New World." So what is an appropriate gratuity for such a magical host? As indicated, gratuities are up to your discretion and should be based on the quality of the service you receive during your tour. That is a highly subjective and personal decision. My planDisney pal Cody offers some tipping insights that may help. I'll add to that my suggestion of having a particular budget in mind, then scaling that according to the level of service you feel like you received. If possible, I'd recommend leaning toward the generous side of your budget to recognize and appreciate your guide's service. Here are some questions you might ask to help quantify that. Did your tour guide need to manage and support a larger-than-normal group size? How much of your tour duration did you and your party directly engage with your tour guide? Were there any moments when your group may have taken time for a break but your guide continued to work during that time to make arrangements for you or keep some members of your party entertained and engaged? How knowledgeable was your tour guide and how much more enjoyable did that extra knowledge make your experience? How many items on your group's must-do list did your guide help you accomplish? Did your guide offer recommendations you might not have thought of that helped make your day more magical than expected? You've got an opportunity to live your most magical life during your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth, David. I hope your experience lives up to your expectations.Have a magical time!~Tony
