At the time of of vacation my son will be 2. Any suggestions for don't miss attractions and dining for a 2 year boy?

    Hi Candace,

Your son will be the exact same age as my youngest son was on our last trip to Walt Disney World this past summer, so I'm happy to share his favorites in regards to attractions, shows, and restaurants.

His absolute favorite rides at Magic Kingdom were Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and it's a small world in Fantasyland, Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland, Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland, and the Walt Disney World Railroad making multiple stops at Magic Kingdom. While these were his favorites, there are many more, especially in Fantasyland geared toward little ones. In Epcot, he loved Turtle Talk with Crush and Journey into Imagination with Figment. Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, we just had to see Disney Junior - Live on Stage and Toy Story Mania. Of course, my Cars loving boy had to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater near the exit to Muppet Vision 3D. Last, but not least, in Disney's Animal Kingdom, Triceratop Spin, the Boneyard, and Rafiki's Planet Watch (including the Affection Section petting area) were top on his list. He loved all the parades, but was not a fan of the fireworks.

We found that eating at a table service restaurant was a bit more tricky with him, especially toward the end of the day if he was tired and cranky. He loved the pizza at Pizzafari in Disney's Animal Kingdom and absolutely adored the character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine with characters from the popular Disney Junior shows, including Handy Manny and Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. We also found the Sunset Ranch Market at Disney's Hollywood Studios a great place to dine with him. It is a quick service dining spot, but with the outdoor seating, it gave him a bit more room to move around and lots more to look at.

I hope this helps you have a starting point to plan your time with your little one. Have a magical trip.
