Hi there, Carolyn! Welcome to planDisney!
As a Walt Disney World Resort "local," I've experienced the theme parks during every season. There are definitely times of the year that feel less crowded than others; however, in my opinion, there is no bad time to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth.
To avoid peak attendance, I strongly recommend visiting during weekdays (Monday-Friday) that are not too close to a holiday. Special events at Walt Disney World Resort can sometimes draw in more Guests as well, such as runDisney race weekends. You can check out the
upcoming races here. (Side note: If you're up for the challenge, those weekends are a ton of fun. In that case, the more, the merrier!)
On the flip side, sometimes those special events can make the theme parks seem less crowded. You may find that queues for attractions are shorter on days that the theme parks close earlier for separately ticketed events like
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park or
Disney After Hours events at any of the theme parks. And if you really want to skip the attractions' standby queues, use the
Disney Genie+ Service and/or the Individual Lightning Lane option. You can purchase these through the
My Disney Experience app on each day of your visit.
Overall, my family's favorite times to visit are in February during the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, in May right before Memorial Day weekend, and in mid-November when the weather is a bit cooler.
Whenever you visit, I hope that you find the magic while being in the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy. Come back
to visit us here at planDisney with any further questions!
Magic always,
LeAndra
