Hi Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney.
My family enjoys pool time every day of our Walt Disney World Resort vacations! My Mouseketeers have so much fun splashing in the Florida sunshine and enjoying the poolside recreational activities, and my husband and I like to enjoy a snack or frosty beverage while lounging in a deck chair. True vacation vibes!
The pools at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are heated to around 80 degrees and operate year-round. Pools only close when weather conditions make swimming unsafe. One March, my family was staying at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, and we looked outside to see the pool Cast Members wearing coats and long pants. Being from Canada, we got a good chuckle because we were ready to dive in! I will say that on a chilly November day, my kids and I had the whole pool at
Disney's Old Key West Resort to ourselves. We were fine in the water - but getting out was not fun! Luckily, that resort has a sauna, so we warmed up in there before heading back to our room to bundle up.
Thank you for stopping by with your question, Stephanie! As you continue to plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please come back and see us if you have any further questions. The
Disney Parks Blog is a great source for news about new experiences, treats, and other announcements about the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs - I keep a list on my phone, organized by location, so I can always find a "must-try" treat, no matter where in "The World" I am.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
