Which time of year is more crowded Thanksgiving or Christmas? Is Christmas time too crowded? Thank you so much!

    Hi Charlotte!

The holidays are a wonderful time of year to visit Walt Disney World, the decorations and the yummy treats add to the festive atmosphere.  The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas is one of the best times of the year to visit.  The crowds are light, the weather is wonderful and it is one of the least expensive times to stay on Disney property.

The exception is the week of Thanksgiving and the weeks before/after Christmas, this is one of the busiest times of the year to visit.  It is not uncommon for some of the parks, especially Magic Kingdom, to reach capacity on Christmas day and the week following.  In my experience, Thanksgiving is slightly less crowded than Christmas so my family prefers visiting at Thanksgiving.  However,  It is possible to visit the parks on either of these holidays, but to experience any must do attractions, a good touring plan is a must.

    Best Wishes!
