1st time going to WDW with kids (6yr g, 3yr b). We plan to stay with relatives who live 45 min away from WDW. Worth it to stay in hotel or make the daily drive? Which hotels do you rec? Stay with Mag King for 2 days or do 2 parks, which do u recommend?

    Hi Jackie!

How exciting that you'll be visiting Walt Disney World for the first time with your children!

Staying off-property and driving in to the park(s) daily is certainly a feasible option to consider. Personally, I've always enjoyed staying on-site at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for the many benefits available such as transportation, Extra Magic Hours and being able to purchase the Disney Dining Plan.

If you decide to stay on-site to fully immerse yourselves in the Disney experience, there are a few resorts I'd recommend. If budget is your top concern, you can't go wrong with Disney's Pop Century or Art of Animation Resorts. If you'd like to be a little closer to the parks, consider Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Finally, if you want to be right in the heart of the action, close to Magic Kingdom, my top picks would be Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort or Disney's Polynesian Resort.

With a young Prince and Princess in tow, you'll likely find that two full days of Magic Kingdom will keep everyone happy! If at the end of your first day, you find that you've seen it all and are ready to experience something new, I'd highly recommend Disney's Animal Kingdom if you're a family of Animal lovers, or Disney's Hollywood Studios if you're into the movies and Disney Junior Shows. They're both great picks to keep everyone entertained on your second day.

If you have additional questions, or would like more information or recommendations, please feel free to write me back Jackie. I'd be happy to help you out and would love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a Magical time as you plan for your visit to Walt Disney World!
