1st time going to WDW since 2019. I'm confused about theme park reservations. I got a vacation package (a 14-day stay at a WDW Disney Resort with 10-Day Theme Park Base Tickets and Disney dining plan). Do I need to make theme park reservations?

    Hello Liliana!

Welcome back again to planDisney! I am so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort! It's your first time and you are definitely setting yourself up for success! A nice long stay with a dining plan will make your trip feel effortless.

I am glad to inform you that you will have one less thing to worry about. Theme Park Reservations are now no longer needed for date-based tickets. Your 10-day Theme Park Base Ticket was purchased in a way where you had to select a start date and a time range was given where you have to use it. As a result, you should not have to worry about making any theme park reservations. You can visit any Park on any day you like! I love the flexibility of making decisions based on your mood or the weather. Now you can be flexible again with your holiday!

Since you have the dining plan you should start planning where you want to eat. I'm not sure which dining plan you selected, but one provides one Quick-Service meal and one Table-Service meal a day. If you selected this one (which is my favorite) then you will have to start making your dining plans 60 days before you arrive. Since you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you can start making those reservations not only 60 days before you arrive but also up to 10 days into your stay. This will give you a tremendous advantage in securing some hard-to-get reservations and popular restaurants such as 'Ohana and Space 220 Restaurant. Your 60-day mark is coming up soon so make sure to note it on your calendar. Bookings open up at 6 am EST so set that alarm and have your coffee ready!

I hope this helps and you have a lovely time! If you are interested we also have planDisney in Español

    Happy Planning!
