1st time @ WDW 2 adults 2 kids 3 & 9. Carib. Beach Resort 09/17-09/ 24 meal plan/park hopper. How long does it take from resort to Magic Kingdom? & best route. What is best Character dining for that age? Any tips on must do's. Feeling overwhelmed

Hi Loriann and welcome to the Mom's Panel!

You must be so excited about your first visit to Walt Disney World!

It is very easy to feel overwhelmed with so much to consider but please do not worry - you are going to have a fantastic time! There is lots of information available on the Walt Disney World website as well as right here on the Mom's Panel and I would highly recommend that you do as much research as you can before your trip.

The best way to get from your Resort to the Magic Kingdom is to take a bus. The journey will take approximately 15 minutes and you will also need to allow up to an additional 20 minutes for time which will be spent waiting for the next bus to arrive.

As far as Character Dining is concerned, I don't think that you can go wrong with Chef Mickey's which is located at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner with visits from Mickey Mouse and his pals.

Please do not hesitate to visit us again with any other questions which you may have.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
