    1st time using Magic Bands in March 2016! If I set up our bands and ship them out but then decide to purchase 1 of the new character bands how do we switch the activation from the plain band to the character band?? Also, are they reusable on future trips?

    Hello Sandra,

    Thanks so much for visiting with your question. As a Disney Resort Hotel Guest you will receive a set of MagicBands for your party. If you wish to purchase another one during your visit, a Cast Member can link it to your account right at the register when you make your purchase.

    Both MagicBands would be active at that time. You may wish to alternate which MagicBand you use or go in to your My Disney Experience account and mark one as inactive. MagicBands can be reused over and over as long as the battery lasts. I'm told the batteries should last around two years, but I haven't personally tested this information.
