What time can I start making my reservations for dining when I’m 60 days out? Also I have bought tickets for Disney world but have not made a park reservation yet because I need to know what rsvp I can get Will that stop be from making reservations

Hi there, James. I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question. Disney dining is one of my very favorite things to chat about.

James, 60 days prior to your Walt Disney World check-in date you'll be able to make advanced dining reservations starting at 6:00 a.m. online and 7:00 a.m. over the phone. I do recommend setting your alarm and trying to get up a bit early because some of the best spots do tend to fill up rather quickly. The phone number to call and have a Cast Member assist you with all of your reservations is 407-WDW-DINE. Typically, I set my alarm for 5:50 a.m. and have everything laid out and ready to go. That way, when things open up online I am ready.

You do not need to have your park pass reservations secured in order to book your dining reservations. However, keep in mind that just because you have a dining reservation somewhere it does not automatically grant you access to that particular theme park. You will need to also have a park pass reservation. If you have the park hopper option added on to your tickets and want to make a dining reservation for a different park than the one with your park pass reservation, you'll need to plan for that meal to be after 2:00 p.m. That's when park hopping hours start.

If you are looking for a dining recommendation, James, my go-to spot right now is The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. The restaurant is just beautiful and set right on the lake providing stunning views especially around dinner time when the sun is setting. The menu is huge and has something for everyone. I've had a lot of menu items over the years but my favorite thing right now is the lobster roll, served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. If there is any room left at the end of the meal sometimes we splurge and enjoy the key lime pie in a jar. It's tart and light and everything you can ask for in a dessert.

I hope you are able to secure all of the dining reservations you want for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. If you have any other questions as you plan, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
