Galactic greetings, Pamela, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I sense the Force is strong with you, so I can’t wait for you and your family to journey to a
galaxy far, far away next month!
When you’re mapping out your magical Disney days, I’d recommend setting aside 20-30 minutes for your Padawan to experience
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. And what an experience it is. He’ll start by meeting one of Savi’s Gatherers outside of Savi’s Workshop, then he’ll get to choose between one of four hilt themes, including Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. Then, he’ll select the heart of the lightsaber, known as the kyber crystal. The next step involves assembling the hilt. The last step is one he’ll never forget, as the Gatherers will connect the hilt to the lightsaber blade, and it’s time to activate!
Since your Padawan is under the age of 14, he’ll be required to have one Guest over the age of 14 with him during the experience. Just keep in mind that the experience area is limited to the builder and two Guests.
I recommend making a reservation online up to 14 days in advance. There will also be some same-day reservations made available daily at 7:00 AM Pacific Time for visits that day, but these are subject to availability, so your best bet is to make a reservation ahead of time. Then, check in at Savi’s Workshop no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your reservation time.
Don’t forget to try some
Blue Milk afterward… it’s such a refreshing treat, and it can even be mobile ordered on the
Disneyland app!
I can’t wait for you and your Padawan to experience this epic moment in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
As they say on Batuu, ‘til the spire!
