Hi Andrew,
The question of whether an Uber ride is truly the golden ticket to faster entry into the Walt Disney World Resort is a bit of a conundrum. While the allure of skipping the parking hassle is undoubtedly tempting, the reality is a tad more nuanced.
While taking an Uber to the Theme Parks might seem like a time-saving option, it doesn't always guarantee a quicker entrance. The proximity of the ride-share drop-off and pick-up points varies between parks. For instance, at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the ride-share entrance is relatively close to the front of the park, potentially saving you some time. However, at
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios, the ride-share location is near the area where
Resort Transportation is stationed, which might not shave off much time from your entry process.
Additionally, you'll need to consider the wait time for your ride-share when you're ready to leave. Especially during peak times like park closing, there might be an increased demand for ride-shares, leading to longer wait times. So, while the round-trip cost of an Uber might be comparable to parking fees, the time saved could vary depending on the park and the time of day.
In my opinion, it's essential to weigh the convenience of ride-sharing against potential waiting times and the location of drop-off points to determine what works best for your park visit. For me personally, when I don’t stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, I typically opt for driving to the Theme Parks as I like to know that when I’m ready to leave, my transportation is already waiting for me.
