How much time should I plan to get from the Poly to MK each morning? Do you have to go through security twice - once for the monorail and again at the MK entrance gate?

Welcome to planDisney, Stephanie! You must be so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has such a special and magical vibe. It's so relaxing but there's also no shortage of fun things to see and do. Whether I'm staying there or not, I somehow always find myself at Capt. Cook's for Pulled Pork Nachos followed by a HippopotoMai-Tai outside at Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace!

Monorail transportation from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to Magic Kingdom Park is really quick and efficient. There's only one stop between you and your final destination, so it's a pretty short trip. The planner in me says you should leave 30 minutes before you want to arrive, but know that even if you have to wait a few minutes for the monorail to arrive it probably won't even take 15 minutes for you to get there. The busiest time of the day tends to be first thing in the morning when everyone is trying to get to the Theme Parks, so that's when you should leave yourself a bit of a buffer and plan for some extra travel time.

On your way to Magic Kingdom Park, you will not have to go through security twice. You will have a security check at the monorail station before you get on and then you will be dropped off past the security checkpoint at your final destination. The only thing between you and Main Street, U.S.A. will be the turnstile!

I hope this answers your question, Stephanie, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
