Welcome to planDisney Jessica!
It sounds like you are visiting Walt Disney World during the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is truly magical when you celebrate it Disney style! Enjoy all the beautiful decorations at the theme parks and in each of the resort hotels. Mickey loves the holidays and goes all out with festive decor!
Guests without a separate special event ticket for
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party must exit the Magic Kingdom by 6pm. This will still give you a full day of magic since the park is usually open at 9am (or earlier,
check the park hours as you get closer to your vacation). If you want to stay for the party, you will need to
purchase a ticket. Dates will sell out as you near your vacation, so secure your tickets if you plan to attend.
If you do not purchase a special event ticket, you can still have a night of fun after leaving the Magic Kingdom. Hop on the monorail to enjoy a leisurely dinner at one of the resort hotels (
Dining Reservations recommended). Another option is to hop to another park if you have the
Park Hopper option added to your ticket. My family really enjoys EPCOT at night, so we hop on the monorail, transfer at the TTC and zip over to EPCOT to finish off the night.
You can also flip your day around! Spend the day lounging at your resort pool or have a fun day shopping and dining at
Disney Springs. With a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Ticket you may enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4pm. This way, you get to enjoy Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, and even snow on Main Street! Use that extra day of ticket on another day of your vacation or if you have not yet purchased your tickets, purchase one day less than planned.
Just a reminder that for each day you visit a theme park, a
Theme Park Reservation is required. If Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is the only time you will be entering a park that day, a reservation is NOT required.
Whatever you decide, I hope your vacation is filled with holiday spirit and lots of sweet treats!
