What time does parking open before the parks now? October 2020

Welcome to planDisney, Cheri! Planning your transportation and parking is a really important part of your trip to Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm happy to let you know exactly what's going on so you have all the information you need for your vacation this week.

Cheri, at the moment, parking lots are opening around 45 minutes before the Theme Park you're visiting opens for the day. This timing is subject to change, but arriving about 45 minutes in advance should give you plenty of time to park your car and make your way to the Theme Park gates. Arriving early to "rope drop" popular attractions isn't as necessary as it once was now that the Disney Park Pass system is in place and capacity has been adjusted to allow for physical distancing, but I do recommend giving yourself plenty of time to park in the morning at Disney's Hollywood Studios if you plan on riding Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. You'll need to join a Boarding Group using the My Disney Experience app, and they're going very quickly in the morning as soon as the Theme Park opens for the day, so I recommend getting there early to be in place to secure your reservation!

I hope this answers your question, Cheri, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
